NUCLEUS: BINNA BURRA'S BUSHFIRE MUSEUM MEMORIAL

BINNA BURRA'S BUSHFIRE MUSEUM MEMORIAL
The project is a museum commemorating the Australian bushfires of 2019-2020, commonly known as Black Summer. The unprecedented 2019-2020 bushfires led to more than 10 million hectares of land in southern Australia being burned, greater than the combined area that burned in the Black Saturday (2009) and Ash Wednesday (1983) bushfires. The fires mainly ravaged New South Wales but extended to different states: Queensland, Victoria and South Australia. Queensland lost 48 homes and 2,500,00ha. Amongst those losses were the heritage-listed lodge and cabins of Binna Burra Lodge.
